Emad Newair is an associate professor of analytical chemistry at Sohag University. The doctoral degree he received was in analytical chemistry from Sohag University in Egypt. A grant of $130K has been awarded to Dr. Newair's research by the Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority (STDF, Grant number 5361) as part of its research program. Among his research interests, he is particularly interested in electrochemical sensors, electrochemically modified electrodes, liquid chromatography, and mass spectroscopy, as well as the electrochemical synthesis of conducting polymers. As part of his graduate training program on the application of modern electroanalytical techniques, he was awarded a short-term scholarship to Monash University in Australia in 2012. In the period from 2014 to 2016, he was awarded two postdoctoral research grants to Montpellier-SupAgro, France for his research. He was selected as a Fulbright scholar in 2022 at the University of Cincinnati in the United States. Over 15 peer-reviewed publications and 10 conference proceedings have been published by him. In addition to teaching, Dr. Newair also serves as an advisor to graduate students preparing for their Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees. His teaching responsibilities include analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, and general chemistry courses.
