Synthesis of Novel Fused Heterocycles Based on 6-Amino-4-phenyl-2-thioxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile
Under phase transfer catalysis conditions, 6‐amino‐4‐phenyl‐2‐thioxo‐1,2‐dihydropyridine‐3,5‐dicarbonitrile (1) was allowed to react with halo compounds, acrylonitrile, chloroacetyl chloride, ethyl cyanoacetate, formamide, triethylorthoformate, or formic acid to give new derivatives of fused pyridines 2–22, respectively. Acetylation of compound 1 using acetic anhydride afforded product 23, which in turn underwent intramolecular cyclization in pyridine to give the corresponding pyrido[2,3‐_d_]pyrimidine 24. إقراء المزيد

Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of Substituted Nitrotetrazole-5-Carbaldehyde Hydrazones
A series of substituted -nitrotetrazole-5-carbaldehyde hydrazones were synthesized and tested for antimicrobial activity with respect to _Staphylococcus aureus_, _Streptococcus pneumoniae_, _E. coli_, _P. aeruginosa_, and _Micrococcus_. A procedure of synthesis of 2-(2-methyltetrazol-5-yl)-2,2-dinitroacetonitrile has been developed and its reaction with substituted nitrile _N_-oxides has been investigated, proceeding by the mechanism of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and affording 2-methyl-5-[(1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)(dinitro)methyl]-2_H_-tetrazoles. The reaction of the silver salt of (2-methyltetrazol-5-yl)dinitromethane with cyanogen bromide led to the formation of 2-(2-methyltetrazol-5-yl)-2,2-dinitroacetonitrile. The nitrile group of the latter was capable of entering into 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with diazomethane, giving a mixture of isomeric 2-methyl-5-[(_N_-methyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)dinitromethyl]tetrazoles that were separated by column chromatography.
