Sodium borohydride hydrolysis over mesoporous spherical carbon obtained from jasmine flower extract
In this contribution, we have utilized Jasmine flower (Tabernaemontana divaricata) extract as a green source during the synthesis of carbon under hydrothermal conditions. Phase characterization indicated that the prepared material is graphitic carbon with various functional groups. TEM images revealed that the prepared material is composed of quasispherical particles having diameters in the 15 nm range, which are accumulated in ... Read more

Combustion synthesis of nanocrystalline porous CoFexAl2-xO4 spinels: Structural, textural, magnetic, and electrical properties
A simple ammonia fueled combustion route was used to synthesize a series of nanocrystalline porous CoFexAl2-xO4 spinel samples with different Fe concentration (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 2.00) at 400 ◦C. The structural, morphological, and textural properties of the synthesized powders were analyzed by using XRD, FT-IR, FESEM, TEM, SAED, and N2-physisorption techniques. The electrical and magnetic properties of the spinels ... Read more

Antibacterial and Photocatalytic Activities of Controllable (Anatase /Rutile) Mixed Phase TiO2 Nanophotocatalyst Synthesized by Microwave- Assisted Sol-Gel Method
The idea of preparing different ratios of (anatase/rutile) TiO2 mixture has been performed by using microwave assisted sol-gel method and by applying particular concentrations of titanium (IV) isopropoxide as a single source precursor (SSP) with a constant concentration of nitric acid that has been used as structure directing agent. The effect of TiO2 composition ratio of anatase to rutile on ... Read more

Porous Fe2O3-ZrO2 and NiO-ZrO2 nanocomposites for catalytic N2O decomposition
Mesoporous Fe2O3-ZrO2 and NiO-ZrO2 nanocomposites with 10 and 20 wt% of Fe2O3 and NiO composition were prepared by modified sol-gel method. The physico-chemical characteristics of calcined nanocomposites were evaluated utilizing different techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron spectroscopy, N2-physisorption, H2-temperature programed reduction, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy after pyridine adsorption and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The ... Read more

Template Assisted Microwave Synthesis of rGO-ZrO2 Composites: Efficient Photocatalysts Under Visible Light
In this research, cetyltetraethyl ammonium bromide template assisted microwave procedure was utilized to synthesize reduced graphene oxide-zirconia (rGO-ZrO2) nanocomposites by varying the rGO composition (1, 2, 5 and 10 wt%). The physico-chemical characteristics of the nanocomposites were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), diffusive reflectance ultraviolet-visible (DRUV-vis), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ... Acidic Peptizing Agent Effect on Anatase- Rutile Ratio and Photocatalytic Performance of TiO2 Nanoparticles
TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized from titanium isopropoxide by a simple peptization method using sulfuric, nitric, and acetic acids. The effect of peptizing acid on physicochemical and photocatalytic properties of TiO2 powders was studied. The structural properties of synthesized TiO2 powders were analyzed by using XRD, TEM, N2-physisorption, Raman, DR UV-vis, FTIR, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy techniques. The characterization results showed ... Read more

Fabrication, characterization and catalytic activity measurements of nanocrystalline Ag-Cr-O catalysts
This research paper describes the preparation, characterization and the hydrogen peroxide decomposition activity of a series of nano-crystalline Ag-Cr-O catalysts obtained by calcining a parent mixture of silver aetate and ammonium dichromate. This parent has been calcined for 1 h, in air, at the temperature range of200–700 °C. The characterization of the nano-crystalline Ag-Cr-O catalysts was performed using a series ... Read more

Influence of preparation conditions on the catalytic activity of high surface
High surface area SiO2 samples were synthesized by one-step hydrolysis and co-condensation at different pH (between 3.0 and 6.0) using tetraethyl orthosilicate as the Si source and formamide as the drying additive. The effects of the presence of H2O, formamide and NH3 solution on the hydrophobic nature, textural properties and catalytic functionality of SiO2 were investigated.
