Background: Since 1983 when the 1st laparoscopic appendectomy was described by Semms, different methods for closure of the appendicular stump during laparoscopic appendectomy such as linear stapler (Endo GIA), endoloop ligature, intracorporeal suture and metal endoclips were used.
