The physical properties of bitumen modified with ilmenite and bentonite nanoparticles
Using nanotechnology in asphalt paving has increased markedly to improve the asphalt characteristics and increase the road life, especially with the significant increase in traffic volumes. The present contribution evaluates the effects of ore nanoparticles namely ilmenite and bentonite on the engineering properties and performance of asphalt binder. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) micrograph was used to characterize the ... Read more

Opinion on Nanoparticles for Cancer Remediation
Since the innovation of nanomedicine decades ago, significant advances have been made, especially with cancer as an objective. Nanoparticles in cancer remediation intends to cover different important aspects in this field including development of nanocarrier, delivery of gene, intrinsically active nanoparticles (NPs), microenvironment of tumor, toxicity, and immunology. The mostly applied biocompatible nanocarriers in clinical experiments are lipid, polymer, and ... Read more

A Simple and Reliable Synthesis of Superparamagnetic Magnetite Nanoparticles by Thermal Decomposition of Fe(acac)3
Magnetic nanoparticles have been largely proposed as means of technological tools due to its value in different fields, especially in biomedicine. Herein, we present a robust, highly reproducible and low-cost method to obtain superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles (MNP-II) of about 15±5 nm diameter by thermal decomposition of [Fe(acac)3] in a one pot, two steps method. In the first step, magnetite nanoparticles ... Read more

Ultrastructure, Histochemical and Biochemical effects of Titanium dioxide nanoparticles in Adult male albino rat liver and possible prophylactic effects of Milk thistle seeds
ABSTRACT: Nanotechnology refers to material at the nanometer scale. It has the commercial application of products in the fields of medicine, engineering, manufacturing, information and environmental technology. Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (Tio2 NPs) are manufactured worldwide in large quantities for use in a wide range of applications including pigments, plastics, papers, inks, food colorants, toothpastes and cosmetic manufacturing. Milk thistle is ... Read more

Sonochemical synthesis, structural inspection and semiconductor behavior of three new nano sized Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) chelates based on tri‐dentate NOO imine ligand as precursors for metal oxides
Three novel nanosized Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes of imine ligand attained from the condensation of 2‐amino‐3‐hydroxypyridine and 3‐methoxysalicylaldehyde have been prepared and investigated using diverse chemical methods such as NMR, CHN analysis, conductance, IR, Spectral studies, TGA and magnetic moment measurements. The obtained data confirmed that the synthesized complexes have metal: ligand ratio of 1:1 and octahedral geometry for ... Read more

Synthesis and Characterization of Nano-Tungsten Oxide Precipitated onto Natural Inorganic Clay for Humidity-Sensing Applications
wet chemical method was used to obtain tungsten oxide nanoparticles from tungsten tetrachloride and natural microfibrous inorganic clay (sepiolite) as a starting material. Precipitation of tungsten oxide species onto sepiolite under basic conditions and subsequent thermal treatment was investigated, prompted by the abundance of sepiolite in nature and the useful environmental applications that could be attained. Laser granulometry, X-ray diffraction, ... Read more

Catalytic Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol using Nanosized Ni/Cu Schiff-Base Complexes and their Metal Oxides Nanoparticles
Three novel nanosized Cu and Ni Schiff-base complexes (ahpvCu, ahpnbCu, and ahpvNi) incorporating imine ligands derived from the condensation of 2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine with either 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde or 4-nitrobenzaldehyde were synthesized by a sonochemical approach. The structure of the ligands and their complexes was confirmed by IR, NMR spectroscopy, electronic spectra, elemental analysis, TGA, molar conductivity, and magnetic moment analyses. The results revealed ... Read more

The disclosed transformation of pre-sputtered Ti films into nanoparticles via controlled thermal oxidation
Nanoparticles of TiO2 were successfully prepared from pre-sputtered Ti films using the controlled thermal oxidation. The effect of oxidation temperature on structural, morphological and optical properties in addition to photocatalysis activity of the sputtered films was tested and explained. Analysis of XRD and EDAX elucidated the enhancement in crystallization and oxygen content with the increase of oxidation temperature. SEM depicted ... Read more
