Novel aryl carboximidamide and 3-aryl-1,2,4-oxadiazole analogues of naproxen as dual selective COX-2/15-LOX inhibitors: Design, synthesis and docking studies
A series of novel naproxen analogues containing 3-aryl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles moiety (4B-G) and their reaction intermediates aryl carboximidamides moiety (3B-G) was synthesized and evaluated _in vitro_ as dual COXs/15-LOX inhibitors. Compounds 3B-G exhibited superior inhibitory activity than celecoxib as COX-2 inhibitors. Compounds 3B-D and 3G were the most potent COX-2 inhibitors with IC50 range of 6.4 – 8.13 nM and higher selectivity ... Read more

Immunohistochemical Study To Evaluate the Expression Of DSC-2, COX-2, and CK-14in Urothelial Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Urinary Bladder
The purpose of this study was to identify sites of squamous differentaion in urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder, to differntaite between urothelial carcinoma and squmaous cell carcinoma of the urinary baldder specially those poorly differntiated forms using DSC-2, COX-2 and CK-14 and to corelate these markers with avilalable clinical and histological parameters in urinary bladder Read more

2018-09-06 09:04:32 Keywords Osteosarcoma, Osteoblastoma, Ki-67, COX-2,
Use of Cyclo-oxygenase (COX)-2 Expression and Ki-67-Labeling Index (LI) in the Differntiation between Osteoblastoma and Osteosarcoma
BACKGROUND: Osteoblastoma and osteosarcoma are primary bone forming tumors that show different clinical behavior and radiological/pathological features. In the majority of cases the two entities may easily be separated. Occasionally, however osteoblastoma may resemble osteosarcoma histologically, and the differential diagnosis between aggressive osteoblastoma and low grade osteosarcoma may be very difficult or even impossible on a small biopsy sample. AIMS: ... Read more

Immunohistochemical Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and P53 expression in Breast Carcinoma with Correlation to Clinico-pathological Parameters
BACKGROUND/AIMS: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Egyptian women. This study aims to: 1. Evaluate COX-2 and p53 expressions in the successive steps of breast carcinogenesis. 2. Determine the correlation between COX-2 and p53 with the clinico-pathological parameters in ductal breast carcinoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This study included 74 specimens of breast lesions. Data about patient’s age, tumor ... Read more

Immunohistochemical Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and CD31 Expression in Breast Carcinoma with Correlation to Clinico-pathological Parameters
BACKGROUND: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Egyptian women. COX-2 seems to be involved in malignant transformation and tumor progression by affecting cell proliferation, mitosis, cell adhesion, apoptosis, immune surveillance, and angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is an important key step in tumor progression. Microvascular density (MVD), a surrogate marker of angiogenesis can be assessed by CD31 staining. AIMS This study ... Read more

Expression of Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and Interleukin-8 (IL-8) in H. pylori Gastritis; A Study on Diagnostic Methods and Pathological Effects of H. pylori Infection in Dyspeptic Patients
_BACKGROUND__ H. pylori_ infection causes diverse clinical outcomes, including dyspepsia, peptic ulceration, gastric carcinoma and mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. Up-regulation of COX-2 has been observed in _H. pylori_ gastritis in response to inflammatory cytokines. IL-8 is a major activator for neutrophils which contribute to mucosal damage in _H. pylori_ infected patients. A wide-spread use of non-invasive simple diagnostic ... Read more
