Antibacterial and Urease Inhibitory activity of New Piperazinyl N-4 Functionalized Ciprofloxacin-oxadiazoles
This research includes design of new ciprofloxacin bearing oxadiazole at the N-4 piperazinyl for the purpose of having urease inhibitory activity as well as antibacterial activity. Hence, a group of new N-4 piperazinyl oxdiazole derivatives of ciprofloxacin was prepared and characterized using different spectroscopic and analytical techniques including 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS and elemental analysis. Compounds 5b and 5c experienced moderate ... Read more

DNA binding ability mode, spectroscopic studies, hydrophobicity, and in vitro antibacterial evaluation of some new Fe(II) complexes bearing ONO donors amino acid Schiff bases
New series of Fe(II) complexes and Schiff base amino acids have been designed and synthesized from the bioactive ligands by condensation of 5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and aamino acids (L-alanine (ala), L-phenylalanine (phala), L-aspartic acid (aspa), L-histidine (his) and L-arginine (arg)). Elemental analyses, infrared, ultraviolet–visible spectra, as well as conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements are used to elucidate the structure of the newly ... Read more

Hydrophilicity and acid hydrolysis of water-soluble antibacterial Iron(II) Schiff base complexes in binary aqueous solvents
Kinetics of acid hydrolysis of seven antibacterial iron(II) Schiff base complexes has been studied. The Schiff base ligands were derived from sodium 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde-5-sulfonate and a series of amino acids. The hydrolysis rate is studied by spectrophotometric method and compared with complex hydrophilicity. Addition of the organic co-solvent, dimethylsulfoxide or n-propanol, significantly accelerates the hydrolysis. Read more

2018-11-28 14:29:32 Keywords imino-complexes, Hydrophilic, antibacterial,
Kinetics of acid hydrolysis and reactivity of some antibacterial hydrophilic Iron(II) imino-complexes
Kinetic study of acid hydrolysis of some hydrophilic Fe(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes with antibacterial properties was performed using spectrophotometry. The Schiff base ligands were derived from sodium 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde-5-sulfonate and glycine, L-alanine, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, DL-methionine DL-serine, or L-phenylalanine. The reaction was studied in aqueous media under conditions of pseudo-first order kinetics. Moreover, the acid hydrolysis was studied at different ... Read more

Antibacterial effect of mycological synthesized silver nanoparticles using Aspergillus oryzae and Fusarium solani filtrates
In this study two novel marine fungal isolates (Aspergillus oryzae and Fsarium solani) were used for generating silver nanoparticles (SNPs). The antibacterial effect of mycological synthesized SNPs (12.31±0.26 and 22.6 ±1.2nm for A. oryzae and F. solani, respectively) was tested against Grampositive (Bacillus cereus SBTBC, Enterococcus faecalis 8J, Lesteria monocytogenes 10403S and Staphylococcus aureus 7A) and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli ... Harpulliasides A and B: Two new benzeneacetic acid derivatives from Harpullia pendula
Two new benzeneacetic acid derivatives, harpulliaside A (1) and harpulliaside B (2), together with five known flavonoid glycosides; quercetin-3-O-b-D-glucoside (3), kaempferol-3-O-b-D-glucoside (4),kaempferol-3-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-2)-a-L-rhamnopyranoside (5), kaempferol-3-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl -( 1 !4)-a-L-rhamnopyranoside (6), and kaempferol-3-O-b-D-apiofuranosyl-(1 !2)-b-D-glucopyranoside (7) were isolated and characterized for the first time from the leaves of Harpullia pendula. The structures of these compounds were established by 1D and 2D NMR experiments and ... Read more

Design, characterization, teratogenicity testing, antibacterial, antifungal and DNA interaction of few high spin Fe(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes
In this study, new Fe(II) Schiff base amino acid chelates derived from the condensation of o-hydroxynaphthaldehyde with l-alanine, l-phenylalanine, l-aspartic acid, l-histidine and l-arginine were synthesized and characterized via elemental, thermogravimetric analysis, molar conductance, IR, electronic, mass spectra and magnetic moment measurements.
