Fabrication, Spectroscopic Characterization, Calf thymus DNA Binding Investigation, Antioxidant and Anti-cancer Activities of Some Antibiotic Azomethine Cu(II), Pd(II), Zn(II) and Cr(III) Complexes
This study was conducted to prepare novel azomethine chelates of Cu(II), Pd(II), Zn(II) and Cr(III) with tri-dentate dianionic azomethine OVAP ligand 2-[(2-Hydroxy-phenylimino)-methyl]-6-methoxy-phenol. The prepared compounds were characterized with the help of elemental analyses, spectral (NMR, FT-IR, UV-vis, mass), conductivity, magnetic and thermal measurements. The spectroscopic data suggest that the parent azomethine ligand bind to the investigated metal ions through both ... Read more

Modifications of antioxidant activity and protein composition of bean leaf due to Bean yellow mosaic virus infection and salicylic acid treatments
The antioxidant status as well as protein composition of faba bean leaves infected with _Bean yellow mosaic virus_ (BYMV) and the effect of salicylic acid application was examined in this paper. Some modifications in the antioxidant status were observed by changing some antioxidant enzymes activities and contents of antioxidant metabolites. BYMV-infected leaves revealed POD, CAT, APX and SOD induced activities ... Read more

Square wave voltammetric analysis of polyphenol content and antioxidant capacity of red wines using glassy carbon and disposable carbon nanotubes modified screen-printed electrodes
The polyphenols present in different French red wines were characterized electrochemically using square wave voltammetry (SWV). The voltammetric measurements were carried out using a glassy carbon electrode and disposable screen-printed carbon electrodes unmodified and modified with single- and multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The single-walled carbon nanotubes-modified screen-printed carbon electrode (SWCNTs-SPCE) showed the best results for the voltammetric analysis of polyphenols in ... Read more
