Effect of Europium Substitution on the Structural and Magnetic Properties of Nanocrystalline Cobalt Ferrite
A series of Europium-substituted cobalt ferrites (CoEuxFe2-xO4 with = 0.00, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30) were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The structural characterizations of all the prepared samples were done using XRD and FTIR. These studies confirmed the formation of single-phase spinel structure in all the compositions. The increase in the value of lattice parameter with increase in Europium concentration suggests the ... Read more

Synthesis, characterization and low field magnetotransport of Nd0.6Sr0.4MnO3/CrO3composite
Abstract:(Nd0.6Sr0.4MnO3)1-x/(CrO3)xwith x=0.0–0.030 step 0.005 weight% composites have been prepared by the solid state reaction process. The X-ray and scanning electron microscopic manifest that all composites are a single orthorhombic phase and there are no CrO3 grains separated from NdSrMnO matrix. The electrical measurements have revealed an increase of resistivity and a decrease of metal semiconductor transition with increasing CrO3. The ... Read more

Identification and detectability of broad bean stain virus in broad bean seeds and effects on nodulation
During a survey for broad bean viruses in Sohag Governorate, a virus was identified as Broad bean stain virus (BBSV), a member of the genus Comovirus, based on host reactions, symptomatology, electron microscopy and serologically by double antibody sandwich-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-ELISA) technique. The virus was mechanically transmitted to some members of Leguminosae and also through seeds. The ultraviolet ... Read more

Effect of nickel content on the anodic dissolution and passivation of zinc–nickel alloys in alkaline solutions by potentiodynamic and potentiostatic techniques
The effect of systematic increase of Ni on the anodic dissolution and passivation of Zn–Ni alloys in var-ious concentrations of KOH solution (0.1–1 M) was investigated. The anodic dissolution and passivation behaviourfor each pure Zn and Ni in the same studied solutions was also investigated, and the obtained data were compared.Potentiodynamic and potentiostatic methods were used, and the corrosion layer ... CuF2 as Reversible Cathode for Fluoride Ion Batteries
In the search for novel battery systems with high energy density and low cost, fluoride ion batteries have recently emerged as a further option to store electricity with very high volumetric energy densities. Among metal fluorides, CuF2 is an intriguing candidate for cathode materials due to its high specific capacity and high theoretical conversion potential. Here, the reversibility of CuF2 ...
