Assessment of saphenofemoral junction in infertile patients with varicocele
ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: VARICOCELE IS AMONG THE MOST COMMON CAUSES OF MALE INFERTILITY. VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY IS PRESENT IN SOME PATIENTS WITH INFERTILITY. VALVULAR INCOMPETENCE HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE THE MAJOR UNDERLYING POSSIBLE ETIOLOGIC FACTOR IN THE PATHOGENESIS OF BOTH VARICOCELE AND VENOUS INSUFFICIENCY. AIM OF THE STUDY: THE AIM OF THIS STUDY IS TO ASSESS THE SAPHENOFEMORAL JUNCTION INCOMPETENCE IN ... Read more

Histopathologic patterns of testicular biopsies in infertile azoospermic men with varicocele
In azoospermic infertile men with varicocele, testicular biopsy revealed histopathologic patterns that varied from disorganized spermatogenesis with low or moderate sperm scores to early (primary spermatocytes stage) or late (spermatid stage) arrested spermatogenesis or germ cell aplasia and Sertoli cells only. Diagnostic testicular biopsy can be helpful for accurate management of azoospermic infertile men with varicoceles before surgical repair. Read more

The influence of varicocele on testicular volume.
This study was carried out on 200 primary infertile men ( 140 with. clinical varicocele and 60 without varicocele). All cases were subjected to scrotal ultrasonographic measurement of vein caliber in the pampiniform plexus. Ultrasonography proved superior to physical examination in terms of sensitivity and specificity. The incidence of bilateral varicocele by ultrasonography was 821140 (58.6%) as compared to that ... Efficacy of medical treatment in varicocele patients presenting with oligoasthenoteratozoospermia
BACKGROUND: Varicocele is the most common cause of male infertility. It affects spermatogenesis by multiple theories; the most recent is by increasing the levels of reactive oxygen species. Medical treatment in the form of tamoxifen, anti-oxidant (Zinc) and MPFF (Micronised purified flavonoid fractions), may improve spermatogenesis and semen parameters in patients with varicocele. AIM: show the efficacy of medical treatment ... Read more
