وتخلص هذه الورقة البحثية إلي أن الحرية عند صن في أبسط معانيها مرادفة لتنمية القدرات الإنسانية، وهو ما لا يتم عن طريق الإجبار أو في ظل مناخ استبدادي. إنها معادلة مرادفة اتطور قدرات الإنسان وتحرره من الجهل والمرض، وهي أيضاً مرادفة لتنمية رأس المال البشري فيتحول الإنسان من وسيلة إلي غاية. ومن ثم فإن العلاقة بين الحرية والتطور أضحت علاقة لزوم. أما الحرية بالمعنى السياسي فهي مرادفة للمشاركة، وهذا هو القدر المحتوم الذي لا يتسنى لنا الفرار منه، والتنازل عنها مرادف لفقدان الوجود نفسه. إن العدو اللدود للحرية هو الجهل والمرض. فالإنسان الحر هو ال>ي يصنع مستقبله ويبدع مصيره.

Abstract

This paper attempts to answer three questions:

What is the concept of freedom in the philosophy of sen?.-

     - what are the requirements of this freedom?.

     - what are the elements of this freedom?.

The paper concludes that freedom, in its simplest meanings, is equivalent to developing man's abilities, something which cannot be achievement through compulsion, or in a despotic milieu. It is equivalent to the development of human capabilities, and freeing man from ignorance and illness. It is also equivalent to developing the capital of human capacity, and then man is transformed from a means to an end. Hence, the relationship between freedom and development becomes an obligatory one. In the political sense freedom is synonym to participation, viewed as an inescapable fortune, and that giving it up means giving up existence itself. The mortal enemy of freedom is ignorance and sickness, a free man is that who makes his future , and forms his destiny.
