I obtained my B.Sc. in Botany (Very Good with Honour) from Sohag University in 1996,  M.Sc. degree in Freshwater Mycology in 2001 and my Ph.D. degree in aquatic Mycology in 2004 from Sohag University, Egypt. I published 18 articles in top international Journal in the field and gave 7 presentations in national and international conferences. My h index is 10 and research gate score in 20.38. My current research interests include: ecology, taxonomy and molecular phylogeny of aquatic fungi, endophytic fungi and natural products of aquatic fungi.

Fungal diversity notes 253–366: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa.
Notes on 113 fungal taxa are compiled in this paper, including 11 new genera, 89 new species, one new subspecies, three new combinations and seven reference specimens. A wide geographic and taxonomic range of fungal taxa are detailed. In the Ascomycota the new genera Angustospora (Testudinaceae), Camporesia (Xylariaceae), Clematidis, Crassiparies (Pleosporales genera incertae sedis), Farasanispora, Longiostiolum (Pleosporales genera incertae sedis), ... The genus Lolia from freshwater habitats in Egypt with one new species.
A new species of Lolia and the sexual morph of L. aquatica are described, with illustrations, from decayed submerged wood in the River Nile, Egypt. Molecular phylogenetic analyses of partial SSU and LSU rDNA sequence data place the sexual morph of L. aquatica and the new species, L. dictyospora in a monophyletic clade, distant from the closely related fungi in ... Two new cheirosporous asexual taxa (Dictyosporiaceae, Pleosporales, Dothideomycetes) from freshwater habitats in Egypt.
Two new cheirosporous asexual taxa (Dictyosporiaceae, Pleosporales, Dothideomycetes) from freshwater habitats in Egypt. Mycosphere 7(4), 448–457, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/7/4/5 Abstract Cheirosporium vesiculare and Dictyosporium palmae spp. nov. were collected from submerged wood in the River Nile, Sohag, Egypt. Cheirosporium vesiculare is characterized by macronematous conidiophores, and non-complanate conidia, that are circular in vertical view with seven rows arranged in six peripheral ... Read more

Two new species of Kallichroma (Bionectriaceae, Hypocreales) from Saudi Arabian mangroves
During an ongoing study of marine fungi in Saudi Arabia, two undescribed Kallichroma species were recorded from decayed intertidal wood of Avicennia marina from two mangrove stands along the Red Sea coast and the Arabian Gulf coast in Saudi Arabia. Kallichroma asperum sp. nov. is characterized by rough ascospores cell walls surrounded by a granular sheath. Kallichroma ellipsoideum sp. nov. ... Read more

Fungal diversity notes 367–492: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa.
This is the sixth in a series of papers where we bring collaborating mycologists together to produce a set of notes of several taxa of fungi. In this study we introduce a new family Fuscostagonosporaceae in Dothideomycetes. We also introduce the new ascomycete genera Acericola, Castellaniomyces, Dictyosporina and Longitudinalis and new species Acericola italica, Alternariaster trigonosporus, Amarenomyces dactylidis, Angustimassarina coryli, ... Faces of fungi
Several fungal taxonomic databases (Index Fungorum and MycoBank) can be sourced to find taxonomic details of the fungi, while sequence data for the fungi can be sourced from GenBank and UNITE. The latter nucleotide databases in particularly have very little quality control and thus blast searches for matches in GenBank are often meaningless. Although sequence data may be linked to ... GenBank
GENBANK OVERVIEW WHAT IS GENBANK? GenBank ® is the NIH genetic sequence database, an annotated collection of all publicly available DNA sequences (_Nucleic Acids Research_, 2013 Jan;41(D1):D36-42). GenBank is part of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration, which comprises the DNA DataBank of Japan (DDBJ), the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA), and GenBank at NCBI. These three organizations exchange data on ... Read more

MYCOBANK IN SHORTMYCOBANK IN SHORT MycoBank is owned by the International Mycological Association and is an on-line database aimed as a service to the mycological and scientific community by documenting mycological nomenclatural novelties (new names and combinations) and associated data, for example descriptions and illustrations. Pairwise sequence alignments and polyphasic identifications of fungi and yeasts against curated references databases are ... Read more
