One-Dimensional Metallo-Superconductor Photonic Crystals as a Smart Window
In the present work, we have obtained a new design for sensing the black body radiation. In this work we designed one-dimensional photonic crystals incorporates that a high-temperature superconducting material as a defect layer. The numerical results are essentially obtained based on the fundamental characteristic matrix method. Also, the results show that the appearance of defect mode inside the photonic ... Read more

Tuning the optical, electrical resistivity and structural properties of DC magnetron sputtered aluminum zinc oxide films by changing the oxygen flow rate
Thin flms of aluminum zinc oxide (AZO) were fabricated by DC reactive magnetron sputtering from 50 wt% Al/Zn metallic target. The structure and optical constants of AZO flms were controlled by changing the oxygen (O2) fow rate. X-Ray diffraction revealed that the addition of oxygen transforms the crystalline nature of the metallic Al/Zn to completely amorphous flm at 4.5 sccm. ... Read more

Study of the effects of both film thickness and annealing time on CuxSyOz thin films for the possibility of usage as solar control coatings
Cu xSyOz thin flms with various thicknesses were prepared by thermal evaporation. The structural, morphological, electrical and optical characteristics are examined for possible usage as solar control coatings on cars and architectural windows. The efect of thermal annealing on CuxSyOz flms was examined for the thick flm of 734 nm at 550 °C. The annealing was done for various annealing ... Read more

Effects of Thickness and Ag Layer Addition on the Properties of ZnS Thin Films
Zinc sulfide (ZnS) thin films, with different thicknesses and different silver (Ag) middle layer thickness, were prepared on glass substrates using thermal evaporation. The structural and optical properties of ZnS thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction and UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer. The X-ray diffraction analyses indicated that ZnS films have cubic structure with (111) preferential orientation, whereas the diffraction patterns sharpen ... Read more

Controlled synthesis, morphological, optical and electrical properties of copper-doped zinc oxysulfide nanostructures
Zinc oxysulfide nanostructures may have physical and chemical properties that are different from ZnS or ZnO. Therefore, Cu-doped oxysulfide nanostructures were prepared by vapor transport and their properties were characterized by various techniques. EDAX analysis confirmed the presence of Zn, S, O and Cu in the samples. XRD revealed the formation of mixed phases of hexagonal ZnS, orthorhombic ZnSO4, and ... Read more

Effect of oxidation time on structural, optical and electrical properties of mixed copper oxides nanocrystallites
Mixed nanocrystalline copper oxides were prepared from pre-sputtered copper films at 500 °C for various oxidation times. Mixed orthorhombic Cu64O and monoclinic CuO phases with CuO phase ration varied from 57.8 to 90.8% were obtained upon varying the oxidation time from 1 to 3 h. SEM observations revealed the nanocrystallites morphologies for the oxidized films. The film oxidized for 1 ... Read more

Characterization of Cu2O/CuO nanowire arrays synthesized by thermal method at various temperatures
Cu2O/CuO nanowires (NWs) were grown by thermal oxidation of copper sheet at various temperatures. The thickness and surface roughness of the oxide layers were measured using profilometer, and it was found that they increase with increasing growth temperature. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed the formation of mixed cubic Cu2O and monoclinic CuO phases, and the portion of the monoclinic CuO increased ... Read more

Effect of the carrier gas on morphological, optical and electrical properties of SnO2 nanostructures prepared by vapor transport
The aim of the study was to explore the effects of carrier gas on the properties of SnO2 nanostructures grown by vapor transport method for possible optoelectronic applications. Nanostructures of SnO2 were synthesized via vapor transport method using Ar plus O2 and N2 plus O2 gas mixtures. It was found that the carrier gas (Ar or N2) has great influences ... Read more

Morphologies and optical properties of mixed tin oxysulfide produced by evaporation condensation of SnS
The goal of the present study was to use the evaporation-condensation method of SnS to synthesize mixed novel tin oxysulfide nanostructures. Structural, morphological and optical properties of these nanomaterials were investigated. Synthesis was carried out in horizontal tube furnace using Au coated quartz and Si(100) substrates. The substrates were set along 1–25 cm from the centered alumina boat. The deposition ... Read more
