Extracellular biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Rhizopus stolonifer
Synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has become a necessary field of applied science. Biological method for synthesis of AgNPs by Rhizopus stolonifer aqueous mycelial extract was used. The AgNPs were identified by UV–visible spectrometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR). The presence of surface plasmon band around 420 nm indicates AgNPs formation. The ... Read more

Mycogenesis of Silver Nanoparticles and their Antibacterial Effect
Mycological synthesized silver nanoparticles (SNPs) is a promising field of study and addressing the optimized conditions for this production is discussed in detail in this study. Here, we screened 80 novel fungal isolates, obtained from _Padina_ sp. (Algicolous fungi) and _Avicennia__marina_ (Forssk.) Vierh. (Foliicolous fungi) samples, for SNPs generation using fungal supernatants to identify new isolates with enhanced activity. A ... Read more

Antibacterial effect of mycological synthesized silver nanoparticles using Aspergillus oryzae and Fusarium solani filtrates
In this study two novel marine fungal isolates (Aspergillus oryzae and Fsarium solani) were used for generating silver nanoparticles (SNPs). The antibacterial effect of mycological synthesized SNPs (12.31±0.26 and 22.6 ±1.2nm for A. oryzae and F. solani, respectively) was tested against Grampositive (Bacillus cereus SBTBC, Enterococcus faecalis 8J, Lesteria monocytogenes 10403S and Staphylococcus aureus 7A) and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli ... Synthesis of silver nanooparticles using fusarium solani filtrate
There is a growing interest in biosynthesis of nanoparticles using methods that are simple, inexpensive, and non-toxic to the environment. Among the different available methods of synthesis (including physical and chemical methods), the biological methods are considered to be the most convenient in terms of cost and non-hazardous impacts to the environment. Nanoparticles are proven to possess unique chemical and ... Read more

Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Aspergillus oryzae and its extracellular protein profile
The biological generation of silver nanoparticles (AgNP) is a straight forward process. However, the mechanism by which this process takes place is unclear. We demonstrate the synthesis of AgNPs using fungal filtrate of Aspergillus oryzae. A characteristic peak of AgNP formation was detected at 435 nm. Eight most prominent extracellular protein bands were identified using MALDI/TOF Mass spectrometry. Here, we ... Read more

Extracellular generation of silver nanoparticles using Fusarium solani MH005062
The mechanism of biological generation of silver nanoparticles (SNP) is still not fully understood with most studies merely providing detailed information describing the mechanism by which fungi reduce AgNO3 into SNP. In our work, we demonstrate that proteins are mainly involved in the myco-generation of SNP. Fifty-three and 27 fungal isolates were obtained from Padina (brown algae) and Avicennia marina ... In vitro and in vivo evaluation of biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles for topical applications: Effect of surface coating and loading into hydrogels
In the present study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized via biological reduction of silver nitrate using extract of the fungus _Fusarium verticillioides _(green chemistry principle). The synthesized nanoparticles were spherical and homogenous in size. AgNPs were coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD). The averaged diameters of AgNPs were 19.2±3.6, 13±4, 14±4.4, and 15.7±4.8 ... Read more

Silver Nanoparticles-loaded Hydrogels, A Potential Treatment for Resistant Bacterial Infection and Wound Healing: A Review
Several pathogenic bacteria are developing antibiotic resistance. Recovery from multidrug resistant (MDR) infections is a problematic issue and requires a multiple treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics which are less effective, more toxic and more expensive. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are attracting much interest because of their potent antibacterial and anti-biofilm activities. These nanoparticles are extensively synthesized and used as an effective broad ... Read more
