Carbon steel pipelines corrosion inhibition by some novel imines during acidizing treatment of oil wells: Electrochemical and quantum chemical studies
The corrosion protection of the equipments and vessels is one of chief concerns of the maintenance and design engineers. From this point of view, three novel imine compounds were prepared and their structures were characterized by X-ray, 13C-NMR, 1H-NMR, mass, UV-Vis, FT-IR, spectral data and elemental analyses. The corrosion inhibition of the investigated inhibitors towards carbon steel in 15% HCl ... Read more

Novel Quaternary Ammonium-Based Cationic Surfactants: Synthesis, Surface Activity and Evaluation as Corrosion Inhibitors for C1018 Carbon Steel in Acidic Chloride Solution
A novel class of quaternary ammonium-based cationic surfactants is synthesized and characterized via spectroscopic methods (FTIR, 1 HNMR and13 C NMR). The surface properties, foaming power and biodegrad-ability of the synthesized cationic surfactants are deter-mined using the surface tension technique. The protection performance with their adsorption mecha-nisms for carbon steel is evaluated in a 15% HCl solu-tion by a series ... Read more

Electrochemical and theoretical quantum approaches on the inhibition of C1018 carbon steel corrosion in acidic medium using some newly phenolic Schiff bases compounds
Two novel Schiff bases, 5-bromo-2-[(_E_)-(pyridin-3-ylimino)methyl]phenol (HBSAP) and 5-bromo-2-[(E)-(quinolin-8-ylimino)methyl]phenol (HBSAQ) have been synthesized. They have been characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic techniques (UV–Vis, IR and NMR). Moreover, the molecular structure of HBSAP and HBSAQ compounds are determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The inhibition activity of HBSAP and HBSAQ for carbon steel in 3.5% NaCl + 0.1 M HCl ... Read more
