Two new species of Kallichroma (Bionectriaceae, Hypocreales) from Saudi Arabian mangroves
During an ongoing study of marine fungi in Saudi Arabia, two undescribed Kallichroma species were recorded from decayed intertidal wood of Avicennia marina from two mangrove stands along the Red Sea coast and the Arabian Gulf coast in Saudi Arabia. Kallichroma asperum sp. nov. is characterized by rough ascospores cell walls surrounded by a granular sheath. Kallichroma ellipsoideum sp. nov. ... Read more

A new species of Cryptovalsa from Mai Po mangrove in Hong Kong.
Cryptovalsa mangrovei is described and illustrated as a new species from a wood test block submerged in the intertidal zone of Mai Po Mangrove in Hong Kong and compared with C. halosarceiicola, another mangrove species, and C. suaedicola from an intertidal salt marsh plant. Read more

Dactylospora mangrovei sp. nov. (Discomycetes, Ascomycota) from mangrove wood.
A new species _Dactylospora mangrovei_ is described and illustrated and compared with _D. haliotrepha_ and _D. canariensis_, all marine inhabiting species. _Dactylospora haliotrepha_ and _D. mangrovei_ are tropical/sub-tropical mangrove species collected in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand, while _D. canariensis_ was described from temperate waters. A map of the geographical distribution of the three marine _Dactylospora_ species is presented. ... Read more

Three new marine ascomycetes from driftwood in Australian sand dunes.
Caryospora australiensis sp. nov., Platystomum scabridisporum sp. nov. and Savoryella melanospora sp. nov. are described from driftwood collected from a sand dune at Rye, on the Mornington Peninsula Nature Park, Victoria, Australia. These species are compared with other taxa in these and related genera. Read more

Diversity of aquatic fungi on Phragmites australis at Lake Manzala, Egypt.
This study extends our knowledge of the biogeography of higher aquatic fungi from lakes in Egypt which have not been well explored. Diversity of aquatic fungi in Lake Manzala in Egypt was assessed, and fungi dominating the communities were recorded and compared with those from other lakes in subtropical, tropical and temperate regions. This study represents the first report of ... Read more

Fungal diversity in brackish and saline lakes in Egypt.
Aquatic filamentous fungi were surveyed from two brackish and two saline lakes in Egypt. Ninety-seven fungi (40 ascomycetes, 55 anamorphic fungi and 2 basidiomycetes) were identified from 764 fungal collections recorded from 545 samples collected from Lakes Edku, Marriott, Burullus and Quaron. Of these, 70 are new records for Egypt. This study represents the first report of aquatic fungi from ... Read more

Decaisnella formosus sp. nov. (Ascomycota, Massariaceae) from an Australian sandy beach.
Decaisnella formosa sp. nov., an undescribed ascomycete, was discovered on intertidal wood from a beach on the Mornington Peninsula, National Park, Victoria, Australia. Of the eleven species described under the genus Decaisnella, none match D. formosa, which is described here as a new species.Key words: Loculoascomycetes, Melanommatales, marine fungi, muriform ascospores.
