Fungal Diversity Notes 1–110: Taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal species.
This paper is a compilation of notes on 110 fungal taxa, including one new family, 10 new genera, and 76 new species, representing a wide taxonomic and geographic range. The new family, Paradictyoarthriniaceae is introduced based on its distinct lineage in Dothideomycetes and its unique morphology. The family is sister to Biatriosporaceae and Roussoellaceae. The new genera are Allophaeosphaeria (Phaeosphaeriaceae), ... Read more

Fungal diversity notes 111–252—taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa.
This paper is a compilation of notes on 142 fungal taxa, including five new families, 20 new genera, and 100 new species, representing a wide taxonomic and geographic range. The new families, _Ascocylindricaceae_, _Caryosporaceae_ and _Wicklowiaceae_ (Ascomycota) are introduced based on their distinct lineages and unique morphology. The new Dothideomycete genera _Pseudomassariosphaeria_ (_Amniculicolaceae_), _Heracleicola_, _Neodidymella_ and _Pseudomicrosphaeriopsis_ (_Didymellaceae_), _Pseudopithomyces_ (_Didymosphaeriaceae_), ... 2018-09-20 08:57:29 Keywords Freshwater fungi,
Fungal diversity notes 253–366: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa.
Notes on 113 fungal taxa are compiled in this paper, including 11 new genera, 89 new species, one new subspecies, three new combinations and seven reference specimens. A wide geographic and taxonomic range of fungal taxa are detailed. In the Ascomycota the new genera Angustospora (Testudinaceae), Camporesia (Xylariaceae), Clematidis, Crassiparies (Pleosporales genera incertae sedis), Farasanispora, Longiostiolum (Pleosporales genera incertae sedis), ... Fungal diversity notes 367–492: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa.
This is the sixth in a series of papers where we bring collaborating mycologists together to produce a set of notes of several taxa of fungi. In this study we introduce a new family Fuscostagonosporaceae in Dothideomycetes. We also introduce the new ascomycete genera Acericola, Castellaniomyces, Dictyosporina and Longitudinalis and new species Acericola italica, Alternariaster trigonosporus, Amarenomyces dactylidis, Angustimassarina coryli, ... Diversity of aquatic fungi on Phragmites australis at Lake Manzala, Egypt.
This study extends our knowledge of the biogeography of higher aquatic fungi from lakes in Egypt which have not been well explored. Diversity of aquatic fungi in Lake Manzala in Egypt was assessed, and fungi dominating the communities were recorded and compared with those from other lakes in subtropical, tropical and temperate regions. This study represents the first report of ... Read more

Fungal diversity in brackish and saline lakes in Egypt.
Aquatic filamentous fungi were surveyed from two brackish and two saline lakes in Egypt. Ninety-seven fungi (40 ascomycetes, 55 anamorphic fungi and 2 basidiomycetes) were identified from 764 fungal collections recorded from 545 samples collected from Lakes Edku, Marriott, Burullus and Quaron. Of these, 70 are new records for Egypt. This study represents the first report of aquatic fungi from ... Read more

Lolia aquatica gen. et sp. nov. (Lindgomycetaceae, Pleosporales), a new coelomycete from freshwater habitats in Egypt.
An unknown coelomycete that was collected from the River Nile and associated irrigation canals in Egypt is described. The fungus is characterized by gelatinous pearl white acervuli, a peridium that forms textura intricata, holoblastic conidia that have one basal excentric cellular appendage, and up to 3-5 sub-apical cellular attenuating appendages. Based on morphology, no described genus can accommodate this new ... Read more
