Effect of improving thermal conductivity of the adsorbent on performance of adsorption cooling system
In this paper, effect of using metallic additives on thermal conductivity of granular activated carbon has been investigated. Fillings of iron, copper and aluminum at different mass concentrations ranging from 10 to 30% have been studied. The thermal conductivity of the combinations has been estimated experimentally. The thermal conductivity has been increased with the increase in metal concentrations. A mathematical ... Read more

Derivation of isosteric heat of adsorption for non-ideal gases
This paper presented a theoretical framework for precise determination of the isosteric heat of adsorption for non-ideal gases. The derived equation had been applied for various adsorbent–refrigerant pairs. Highly porous activated carbon powder, namely Maxsorb III and activated carbon fiber of type (A-20) were used as adsorbents with HFC-134a and HFC-410a as refrigerants. The isosteric heat of adsorption data showed ... Read more

Effect of Jet Position on Cooling an Array of Heated Obstacles
Numerical study of the effect of jet position (JP) on cooling process of an array of heated obstacles simulating electronic components has been investigated based on realizable k–e model. Jet positions have been changed to impinge each row of obstacles consecu- tively. The experiments have been achieved at three different values of jet-to-channel Reynolds number ratio, Rej/Rec¼1, 2, and 4. ... Read more

Numerical investigation of heat transfer and pressure drop of in-line array of heated obstacles cooled by jet impingement in cross-flo
A computational study of cooling in-line array of heated obstacles simulating electronic components by jet impingement in cross-flow (JICF) has been investigated using RNG k-?? turbulence model. The jet position has been changed to impinge each obstacle consecutively at different jet-to-channel Reynolds number ratios, Re j/Re c =1, 2, and 4. The main flow structure, the static pressure, local and ... Read more

Finite element analysis of hydromagnetic flow and heat transfer of a heat generation fluid over a surface embedded in a non-Darcian porous medium in the presence of chemical reaction
An analysis is carried out to study the flow, chemical reaction and mass transfer of a steady laminar boundary layer of an electrically conducting and heat generating fluid driven by a continuously moving porous surface embedded in a non-Darcian porous medium in the presence of a transfer magnetic field. The governing partial differential equations are converted into ordinary differential equations ... Read more
