جزيرة سوهاج
دراسة فى الجيومورفولوجية التطبيقية

الملخص
تقع جزيرة سوهاج إلى الجنوب من مدينة سوهاج بنحو 4 كم، وتمثل مظهراً مورفولجياً مميزاً من مظاهر التعرية النهرية فى نهر النيل، وقد تغيرت الأبعاد المورفومترية للجزيرة (المساحة – الطول – العرض- المحيط) خلال الفترة الممتدة بين 1938 و2013 بسبب العمليات النهرية المتمثلة فى النحت والترسيب، بالإضافة إلى التصرفات السنوية والفيضانات والحمولة النهرية والخصائص الهيدروليكية للنهر والنبات الطبيعى إلى جانب العامل البشرى.
وينقسم سطح الجزيرة إلى عدة وحدات مورفولوجية تتمثل فى الأراضى العليا والوسطى والمنخفضة وأراضى المستنقعات، كما يوجد بها العديد من الظاهرات الجيومورفولوجية التى يعد أهمها الأذرع المــائية والجروف والكثبان الرملية.
Sohag Island- A study in Applied Geomorphology

Abstract
Sohag Island is located to the south of the Sohag City about 4 km . It represents A distinctive morphological feature of river erosion in the Nile River. The island morphometric characteristics (area - length –width- Perimeter) changed during the period between 1938 and 2013 due to fluvial processes represented in erosion and sedimentation processes . the annual floods . riverine load . hydraulic characteristics of the river and the riparian vegetation. as well as human factor.
The island's surface is divided into several morphological sections which represented in the upper . middle . low lands and marshes. as there are many geomorphological phenomena such as Khors . Cliffs and Sand Dunes.
The island is dominated by deposits of fine and very fine sand. moderately sorting. which is dominated by the sharp and very sharp spherical shape. which came from multiple sources.
The island soil suits agricultural activity after addition of organic fertilizers and nitrogenous fertilizers and magnesium compounds.
