The metagabbro-diorite complex west of  W.Sharm El Hahari, central Eastern Desert, Egypt, comprises hornblende metagabbros and hornblende quartz metagabbros which grading northward into diorites and quartz diorites. They are metamorphosed up to the greenschist facies and laterlly thermally metamorphosed up to the hornblende hornfels facies. Two thermal metamorphic zones are distinguished namely actionolite and hornblende zones. The metagabbric rocks are calc-alkaline and might belong to the  island arc tectonic environment.
