A noticeable iron-manganese mineralization has been recorded for the first time in the uppermost parts of some Middle Miocene carbonates and siliciclastics west of Ras Honkorab and north of Wadi El Gemal respectively. The mineralization is genetically related to percolating solutions bearing Fe and Mn. Due to relative changes in Ph and/or Eh conditions, some deposits are separated mainly either as iron or manganese minerals. These minerals are accompained by considerable traces of Pb, Zn, Ni and Cu as well as Ti, V and Cr elements.
