Introduction:

Quality of life is a universally       ' desired     patient outcome that is essential to human health (Emery MP, et al., 2005).

The   World        Health Organization Quality of Life group defined quality of life as "an individual's       perception of their position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns (Canbaz S., et al., 2003).

Age, gender, health status and cultural factors are some of the important factors that influence conceptualization of quality of life by different  groups of elderly people (Nelson J., et al., 2006).

Higher age often brings about health problems and a decrease in functional capacity. This means that we have a growing number of people living with chronic diseases, health problems and decreasing capacity. What we can do is to help the patients to live as good as possible despite their illnesses and decreasing capacities (Borglin G., et al., 2006).

Elderly allover the world are at high risk of multiple chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension and other health problems such as disability and dependence. For this population, the ability to prevent complications and maintain mobility will be reflected in their quality of life and their ability to remain active in their communities (Gendell, et al., 2003).

The older patient often has multiple acute and chronic health problems (physical, social and psychological) that require management by a variety of professionals. Proper care of the elderly necessitates efficient gathering, integration and management of information about this critical vulnerable age group (Gress, et al., 2000).

Physical and social decline are the most prominent negative aspects of aging noticed among people aged 60 years and above accompanied by health problems, loneliness and low income (Harman, 2003).
