This clinical course is for the first year nursing students, second semester 20 hours/ week to gain basic skills essential to recognizing nursing role by using the nursing process, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
The students will learn the needed nursing skills in general medicine and surgical branches; respiratory, gastrointestinal, metabolic and endocrine, hematological and oncology units parallel with the theoritical parts. They will acquire skills of giving medications, injections of all types, oxygen delivery, dressing techniques, colostomy, nasogastric tube and safety measures.
The students will have sumative and formative evaluation throughout the course to achieve the overall goal of the curriculum.
