This course is intended to provide students with an introduction to the fundamentals of inorganic chemistry course which focuses on the main topics; atomic and molecular structure at the level of electron dot structures and VSEPR geometries, molecular structure, bonding and the periodic table. Main objectives can be summaries as:

·         To provide students with an overview of the basic trends in Inorganic Chemistry

·         To understand the key aspects of inorganic chemistry including atomic structure and bonding models and molecular orbital’s

·         To develop the ability to predict the structures, and certain properties and reactivities of the elements.

To encourage students to read and appreciate the current literature in the area of inorganic chemistry.
