The microscopic and bulk properties of nuclear matter at zero and finite temperatures are studied in the frame of the Brueckner theory. The results for the symmetry energy are also obtained using different potentials. The calculations are based on realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions which reproduce the nucleon-nucleon phase shifts.
