ملخص:
يعرض هذا البحث لمجموعة خاصة من الريالات الفضية للملكة ماريا تيريزا لم يسبق نشرها من قبل، وتنتمي هذه الريالات كلها إلي ذلك الطراز الذي ضُرب بعد وفاة ماريا تيريزا عام 1780م، وظل الوحيد الذي يُضرب بعد وفاتها تخليداً لهذه الذكري، وفضلاً عن أن هذه المجموعة تُنشر لأول مرة فإن أهمية دراستها تكمن فيما نُقش عليها من كتابات وزخارف ورموز دُمغت عليها فوق كتاباتها ونقوشها التي نُفذت عليها حين ضربها، ويرجع سبب إعادة استخدام هذه الريالات مرة أخري في التداولات النقدية إلي جودة عيارها ودقة وزنها حيث أصبحت ريالات تعاقد دولية يُعقد علي أساسها الصفقات التجارية العالمية، وهو ما شجع عديد من الحكام والدول الذين لم يتوفر لديهم المعدن اللازم لضرب النقود، وكانت هذه الريالات مقبولة عندهم في التداولات النقدية علي إعادة استخدام هذه الريالات مرة أخري بعد دمغها بدمغة تُعبر عن الدولة أو الحاكم الذي دمغها، وتقوم الدراسة قيد البحث بتحليل وتفسير الكتابات والعلامات والرموز التي دُمغت بها هذه الريالات وإيضاح السبب في ذلك، وهذا عن طريق إتباع المنهج الوصفي والمنهج التحليلي، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلي عدة نتائج أهمها أن الأشخاص والدول التي أعادت استخدام ريالات ماريا تيريزا، ودمغتها بدمغة تعبر عن هؤلاء الأشخاص أو تلك الدول إنما كان في إطار أغراض متعددة منها تدعيم موقفهم السياسي، أو إثبات شرعية حكمهم للبلاد التي حازوها، كما بينت الدراسة سبب تعدد الأختام التي دُمغت بها ريالات ماريا تيريزا، والتي تخص دولاً مختلفةً غير متعاصرة وأن ذلك كان انعكاساً للأحداث السياسية المعاصرة حينذاك.
Abstract:
This paper presents a special set of silver Riyals of the Queen Maria Theresa, which had never been published before. All these Riyals belong to that type of riyals, which were struck after the death of Maria Theresa in 1780 as a sort of appreciation, which remained the only coinage struck after her death to commemorate her era. This group was published for the first time; therefore, the importance of its study lies in the inscription of the writings, decorations and symbols marked above them, and the writings and carvings that have implemented them when hit. The reason of re-using these Riyals in global trade deals is the accuracy of its weight and the high quality of its manufacturing. It also encouraged many rulers of different countries to mintage metal coinages
The reasons for re-using riyals of Queen Maria Theresa in the global trading are their caliber, accuracy of their weight, which made such riyals’ International contract riyals held on the basis of global trade deals. The Riyals of Queen Maria Theresa also encouraged many of the rulers and countries which did not have metals to mintage metal coinages to re-use theses coinages and stamp them by a stamp expresses the name of such country or its ruler.
In addition, this paper studies and analyzes the interpretation of literature of signs and symbols that hallmarked such Riyals to clarify the reason of why other countries and rulers followed such coinages. Hence, this search resulted in several conclusions, notably that the people and the countries that re- used the riyals of Maria Teresa and hallmarked them with certain stamps to express the name of the ruler, who did such stamp or its country for different purposes, such as strengthen the political position, or to prove their legitimacy of ruling whatever the countries they used to. The study also presented the reason of multiple seals, which marked The Queen Maria Teresa and reflected the contemporary political events at such time.
