Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of LASIK in thick corneas ≥ 600µm.
Methods: 96 eyes were followed after LASIK for postoperative UCVA, CDVA and SE.
Results: 42 myopic eyes and 54 hyperopic eyes were included. The postoperative SE at 6 month follow-up was -0.45 ±0.6 in myopes and +0.7 ±1.01 in hyperopes. In myopes, 95.8% achieved UCVA≥20/20 and 94.1% in hyperopes. Endothelial count and characteristics showed no change.
Conclusion
LASIK yields satisfactory results in thick corneas
