Aim:-
1-To provide students with the knowledge and skills that enable him/her to identify , analyse, manage and /or refer clinical surgical problems in order to provide efficient cost effective and human patient care.
2- to provide the students with an appropriate background covering the common and life threatening surgical emergencies.
3- to enable the student to detect cancer at an early stage.
4-to enable the developement and applications of appropriate ethical principles, proffesional attitudes and communications skills
Methods:-
1-Clinical round 3 hours daily for 6 days.
2-Classes of case taking including problem solving session
3-Classes for demonstrations of Jars , x-rays and Instuments
4-Attendance of operations in operative theatre
5-Free classes outside the teaching schedule
Assessement Methods:-
1-Clinical Exams to assess practical intellectual and general skills
2-Log bock to assess practical and general skills
3-oral exam to assess knowledge and practical skills (OSPE)
4-OSCE exam
5-students assignment and presentation to assess general skills
