2017 | Keywords Silver nanoparticles,
In vitro and in vivo evaluation of biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles for topical applications: Effect of surface coating and loading into hydrogels
In the present study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized via biological reduction of silver nitrate using extract of the fungus _Fusarium verticillioides _(green chemistry principle). The synthesized nanoparticles were spherical and homogenous in size. AgNPs were coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) 6000, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD). The averaged diameters of AgNPs were 19.2±3.6, 13±4, 14±4.4, and 15.7±4.8 ... Read more

2017 | Keywords Silver nanoparticles, Hydrogel,
Silver Nanoparticles-loaded Hydrogels, A Potential Treatment for Resistant Bacterial Infection and Wound Healing: A Review
Several pathogenic bacteria are developing antibiotic resistance. Recovery from multidrug resistant (MDR) infections is a problematic issue and requires a multiple treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics which are less effective, more toxic and more expensive. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are attracting much interest because of their potent antibacterial and anti-biofilm activities. These nanoparticles are extensively synthesized and used as an effective broad ... Read more

Formulation and In vitro Evaluation of Fluconazole Topical Gels
AIMS: Topical drug delivery of fluconazole, an antifungal drug, in gel form was formulated to avoid the side effect of the oral route. STUDY DESIGN: In this study I prepare different formulation from different polymers and select the best formulation to undergo further antifungal and stability studies. PLACE AND DURATION OF STUDY: Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutics, Assiut University, ... Read more

Study of Fluconazole Release from O/W Cream and Water Soluble Ointment Bases
AIMS: Study the release of fluconazole from different O/W creams and PEG ointments. STUDY DESIGN: In this study, different formulations were prepared with changing one of the added excipients and study the effect of this change on the drug release and then the selected formulations were subjected to antifungal activity study. PLACE AND DURATION OF STUDY: Faculty of Pharmacy, Department ... Read more
