2017 | Keywords dinofalgellate sush, Salam 60 ,
palnofacies analysis and paleoenvironment reconstruction of upper cretaceous
A palynofacies analysis was carried out on thirty ditch-cuttings from the Upper Cretaceous sequences drilled by the Salam-60 well in the Shushan Basin, north-western Egypt. Quantitative vertical distributions of palynomorphs and particulate organic matter exhibit two palynofacies (PF) types. PF-1 suggests deposition of the clastic-carbonate section of upper Bahariya and the lowermost “G” Member of Abu Roash in a brackish, ... Read more

PLANKTONIC FORAMINIFERAL ZONATION OF MIOCENE SUCCESSION IN BOREHOLE TINEH - 2 NORTH SINAI, EGYPT
The litostratigraphic studies carried out on Tineh- 2 section representing the Miocene succession in north Sinai led to the recognition of four main rock units, arranged from older to younger are: Qantara Formation of Early Miocene, Sidi Salem Formation of Middle Miocene, Wakar and Rosetta formations of Late Miocene. The Qantara formation overlies the Tineh Formation of Oligocene, while evaporitic ... Read more

2015 | Keywords SYN-rift MIOCENE,
STRATIGRAPHY, SEDIMENTOLOGY, and TECTONICEVOLUTION OF SYN-rift MIOCENE SILICICLASTIC–CARBONATE SUCCESSION INSIDRI- FEIRAN AREA, SW SINAI , EGYPT
According to the lithologies , lateral and vertical facies distribution of the Miocene sediments exposed at Wadi Sidri-Wadi Feiran area, 6 main rock units could be identified, QABELIAT , NUKHUL , RUDEIS, SARBOUT EL GAMAL , KAREEM BELAYIM FORMATIONS. Read more

2013 | Keywords SIQEIFA, CRETACEOUS,
PALYNOFACIES ANALYSES AND PALEOENVIRONMENT OF SOME LOWER CRETACEOUS ROCKS OF SIQEIFA 1x BOREHOLE, NORTH WESTERN DESERT, EGYPT
Palynological analyses of total 56 ditch cutting samples from Siqeifa 1X, well in the northern Western Desert, Egypt carried out and enabled the recognition of various paleoenvironments of the lower Cretaceous formations encountered, which corresponding to the major three Palynofacies types.
