A new series of ternary lanthanium(III) and cerium(III) complexes containing Schiff bases derived from some amino acids, viz: glycine; alanine; phenylalanine; valine and leucine with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde as primary ligands, and 1-methylimidazole & 1,2-dimethylimidazole as secondary ligands were synthesized.
