2023 | Keywords Hammad deposit,
Intrusion-related Low Sulphidation Gold Mineralization, Wadi Hammad Area, North Eastern Desert, Egypt
Abstract: Gold mineralization in Wadi Hammad is one of few gold occurrences located in the North Eastern Desert of Egypt, occurring at the boundary between the post-tectonic Younger granite and Dokhan volcanics along a north-south (N-S) trending shear zone between them. The main mineral assemblages include arsenopyrite-pyrite-chalcopyrite-galena-sphalerite and sphalerite-gold-covellite-cerussite-pseudomorphic iron oxides. Mineralogical and geochemical studies indicate that the mineralization is ... Read more

2023 | Keywords adakitic nature,
Magmatism and Related Mineralizations in Wadi Hammad, North Eastern Desert, Egypt
Abstract: Mineralization in the Wadi Hammad area is represented by polymetallic vein-type and occurs in four modes, they are mineralized main quartz vein, silicified shear zone, associated hydrothermal alterations, and breccia zones. They mainly occur in the contact between Dokhanvolcanics and Younger granites and are confined to and controlled by the Wadi Hammad shear zone. The study revealed that Dokhan ... Read more

2022 | Keywords Wadi Fatira – Ophiolitic,
A sheared Ophiolitic Mélange: Occurrence, Petrographical And Geochemical Studies, Around Wadi Fatira, North Eastern Desert, Egypt.
Abstract: The present study provides a new perspective on the nature and deformational development of the basement rocks in the Fatira area. The goal of the project is to characterise the mélange rocks in the area from a petrographic and geochemical standpoint. Field, petrographic and geochemical studies of the Neoproterozoic rocks in the Wadi Fatira area indicate that these rocks ... Read more

2020 | Keywords
Geochemical and geochronological characteristics of the Um Rus granite intrusion and associated gold deposit, Eastern Desert, Egypt
The Um Rus tonalite-granodiorite intrusion (w6km2 ) occurs at the eastern end of the Neoproterozoic, ENE-trending Wadi Mubarak shear belt in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt. Gold-bearing quartz veins hosted by the Um Rus intrusion were mined intermittently, and initially by the ancient Egyptians and until the early 1900s. The relationship between the gold mineralization, host intrusion, and regional ... Read more

2018 | Keywords Kaolin deposits, Kalabsha, PR,
Provenance studies of Kalabsha kaolin deposits, Egypt: a petrographical and geochemical approach
The present study focuses on the kaolin deposit in Kalabsha area south Western Desert of Egypt in an attempt to determine its possible source, tectonic setting, and weathering history by means of integrated petrographical and geochemical approaches. The petrographical study was worked by microscopic investigation and supported by X-ray diffraction analysis. X-ray fluorescence and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrophotometry methods were ... 2017 | Keywords Red Monastery,
HISTORICAL BRICKS DETERIORATION AND RESTORATION FROM THE RED MONASTERY, SOHAG, EGYPT: A GEOCHEMICAL, PETROLOGICAL AND STATISTICAL APPROACHES
Abstract The present study investigates for the first time the historical bricks of The Red Monastery (west Sohag, Egypt), built about fifth century AD, which showing several aspects of brick decay. Several techniques were employed (geochemical, petrographical, mineralogical and morphological) to determine their deterioration features and provenance of the raw material as well as shed lights on the firing techniques. ... 2016 | Keywords Soil geochemistry,
Geochemistry and spatial distribution of selected heavy metals in surface soil of Sohag, Egypt: a multivariate statistical and GIS approach
Abstract In this study, selected heavy metals were estimated in surface soil samples of Sohag, Egypt, with the aim to characterize their accumulation patterns. Median concentrations of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn were 0.89, 39, 162, 74, 72,000, 1434, 72, 25 and 164 lgg-1, respectively. The higher average concentrations of these HMs compared with corresponding ... Read more

2012 | Keywords Abu Marawat,
Petrology, geochemistry and remote sensing data of island arc assemblage along Wadi Abu Marawat, Central Eastern Desert, Egypt
Abstract The basement rocks of Abu Marawat area comprise serpentinites (oldest), metavolcanics and their equivalent pyroclastics, intrusive metagabbro–diorite complex, synkinematic granitoids, Hammamat sediments and basic intrusion (youngest). Remote sensing ETM+ data of Abu Marawat area were analyzed, and band ratios technique was applied to discriminate between different varieties of these basement rocks. Serpentinites are represented by lensoidal bodies tectonically incorporated ... Read more
