Purpose: to compare the effect on intraocular pressure and safety of phacotrabeculectomy and trabeculectomy in the treatment of primary angle -closure glaucoma. Methods: this is comparative case series study 25 years old patient with PACG and coexisting cataract were enrolled of these 14 under went phacotrabeculectomy and 11 under went trabeculectomy Iop filtering blebs and complications were compared at the final follow up complete success was defined as final IoP less than 21 mmhg without IOP lowering medications Results : after 10 months post operative follow up the phacotrabeculectomy and trabeculectomy groups show no significant difference reading Iop reduction (21.19+_ 6.94) vs (23.85+_13.39( mmhg p= 0.614 compelete sucees s rate 86% vs 73% p= 0.370 lowering medication was not required but additional surgical
