Abstract:

Washing process of the archaeological textiles is considered one of the most important difficulties which can encounter textile's conservators in museums. As well archaeological textiles are one of the most sensitive materials with aqueous solutions and chemicals, especially fibers or colors as well as they usually are very brittle condition. Also the washing table can be main reason for successful cleaning process, so we need always to continuous developments in this tool in order to conserve the archaeological textiles and obtain cleaned objects with a safe method. In this context, this paper presents many recent function units in a washing table such as a mobile cleaning brush and a controlling unit in running of water whether spraying and submersion water. Also, control in qualification of washing process i.e. measure pH value and concentration rate of partials' dirt in washing solution, in addition to storage of distilled water in the tank unit. These functions are necessary to increase of efficiency of washing process. So it is thought that these additions in washing table will be very useful in the field of cleaning of archaeological textiles, because it presents a lot of practical and applied solutions in field of textiles conservation.
