Electromagnetic radiation is composed of oscillating
electric and magnetic fields emitted by vibrating charged particles.
It transports energy and travels through empty space with a
constant velocity c, where c equals the product of wavelength and
frequency. The electromagnetic spectrum comprises cosmic rays
to long wavelength electrical oscillations, as shown in Table 1.1
and Table 1.2. Light is that very narrow band of the
electromagnetic spectrum to which the eye is specifically
sensitive.
