Melting and boiling points of transition elements

Melting points and boiling points of transition elements are very high. Most of melting  points are higher than  1000 C.

3 elements melt above 3000 C (melting point for tungsten at 3410 C).

There are a few exceptions (melting point for silver is 961 C).

Melting points reach a maximum value in the middle of each series.

In any transition series, melting points increase for the first three or four elements, then show a general decrease.
