• Four our students espeacilly 2nd students of Faculty of Science and Education (Chemistry group): Some Hazard Materials
  • Also the attached file contains data base for all hazard materials which should be known for all students, demonstrators, reserachers and professors
  •
  • Cyanide - Prevents cells from using oxygen and exposure can lead to death. Care and precaution should always be taken when working with cyanide reagents.

  • Tert-butyl lithium - Pyrophoric, so it easily catches on fire when exposed to air. Care and precaution should always be taken when working with alkyl lithiums.

  • Hydrofluoric acid – Will dissolve glass, may form explosive levels of hydrogen when in contact with many metals, and will easily penetrate the skin resulting in tissue destruction, necrosis, organ failure, limb loss, and death.

  • Carbon monoxide - An odorless toxic gas. Carbon monoxide poisoning occurs when CO binds to hemoglobin, preventing the body from delivering oxygen to tissue. Care and precaution should always be taken when working with carbon monoxide.
