Tunable properties of one-dimensional photonic crystals that incorporate a defect layer of a magnetized plasma
In this paper, we theoretically investigate the transmittance characteristics of one-dimensional defective photonic crystal in microwave radiations based on the fundamentals of the characteristic matrix method. Here, the defect layer is magnetized plasma. The numerical results show the appearance of defect peaks inside the Photonic Band Gap. The external magnetic field has a significant effect on the permittivity of the ... Read more

The effect of Cu on the properties of CdO/Cu/CdO multilayer films for transparent conductive electrode applications
Transparent conductive CdO/Cu/CdO multilayer films were prepared using rf plasma magnetron sputtering and electron beam evaporation techniques. The CdO layers were prepared using rf plasma magnetron sputtering, while the Cu interlayer was prepared by electron beam evaporation technique. The Cu layer thickness was varied between 1 and 10 nm. The structural and optical properties as well as the sheet resistance ... Read more

Synthesis, optical, structural, and electrical properties of single-crystalline CdS nanobelts
CdS nanobelts (NBs) were synthesized by vapor transport of CdS powders. The growth was carried out without any catalyst on quartz and Si (100) substrates. The synthesized CdS NBs were examined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), energy dispersion analysis ... Optical and electrical properties of hydrothermally prepared CdTe nanowires
The hydrothermal process was used to synthesize CdTe nanowires (NWs). Various analytical techniques were used to characterize the obtained NWs. The wire diameters were in the range 35–60 nm, and the lengths were >5 μm. The CdTe NWs had zinc-blende crystal structure. The NWs had high uniformity and high yield. FTIR analysis revealed the presence of the characteristic vibrational spectra ... Read more

Structural and Optical Properties of Nanostructured Fe-Doped SnO2
Nanocrystalline Sn1􀀀xFexO2 (where x = 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03 and 0.04) powders have been successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal method followed by sintering at 1000 C for 3 h. The morphology and structure of the samples have been analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction, respectively. X-ray diffraction results revealed that all diffraction peaks positions agree well ... Read more

Effect of annealing on properties of decorative zirconium oxynitride thin films
Zirconium oxynitrides are excellent candidates for many technological applications, especially decorative applications. For the use of zirconium oxynitrides as decorative coatings, the thermal stability is of crucial importance. Therefore zirconium oxynitrides, containing both oxygen and nitrogen, were prepared by pulsed d.c. reactive magnetron sputtering at _Ƥ_N2 / (_Ƥ_N2 + _Ƥ_O2) of 0.98. The as-prepared films were annealed in air for ... Read more

WO3 nanowires for optoelectronic and gas sensing applications
WO3 nanowires (NWs) were grown by vapor transport for potential applications in light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and NO2 gas sensing. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning and transmission electron microscopy, spectrophotometer, and photoluminescence (PL) measurements. XRD revealed the formation of hexagonal WO3 single-crystal phase. Scanning and transmission electron micrographs analyses showed that the hexagonal WO3 has nanowires in ... Read more

Morphological and magnetic properties of the hydrothermally prepared α-Fe 2 O 3 nanorods
α-Fe2O3nanorods were synthesized via hydrothermal method. X-ray powder diffraction revealed the formation of rhombohedral α-Fe2O3single crystal phase with fiber texture. Scanning and transmission electron micrographs analyses showed that the rhombohedral α-Fe2O3 has nanorods in shape with diameters of 40–85 nm and lengths of 150–45,000 nm. Isothermal magnetization vs. applied magnetic field curves measured at room and liquid nitrogen temperatures displayed ... Read more

Synthesis, photoluminescence and optical constants evaluations of ultralong CdO nanowires prepared by vapor transport method
Ultralong CdO nanowires (NWs) were synthesized on Au coated Si and quartz substrates by using vapor transport method. The synthesis temperature was chosen via thermal gravimetry analysis (TGA) and it was 1150 °C. The formation of CdO was confirmed by energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDAX) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy analysis. The CdO nanowires was found to grow ... Read more
