Screening of certain barley lines for resistance to root rot disease caused Fusarium graminearum. Archives of Phytopathology and Plant Protection
his investigation was conducted in 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 to test 235 barley lines plus two varieties Giza 127 and Giza 128 for resistance and susceptibility to Fusarium graminearum. All screened barley lines showed varied significant degrees of infestation to root rot pathogen. A screening system is described for identifying barley lines which are effective in controlling resistant or susceptible lines. ... Read more

Genetic studies on yield traits of durum wheat. I-Morphlological trait
Eight-durum wheat genotypes Triticum trugidum var. durum, of wide ecogeographic origin were used in this study, namely, Carcomun, Cmh80, Chahba 88, Belikh 1, Sohag 1, Sohag 2, Sohag 3 and Bani-Sweif 1. These genotypes were crossed in all possible combinations. The parental genotypes, F1 hybrids and F2 populations were grown in a completely randomized block design with three replicates. The ... Genetic studies on yield traits of durum wheat. II-Grain yield and its attributes
A study on the nature of the genetic system controlling grain yield/plant and its attributes was carried out using a diallel set of crosses among eight durum wheat genotypes, Triticum turgidum var. durum of diverse origin at the F1 and F2 generations. The parental genotypes, F1 hybrids and F2 populations were grown in a completely randomized block design with three ... Read more
