In order to study the influence of ligh

Abstract

In order to study the influence of light and compound feed on growth performance at young quails from mixed Baloteşti population was organized an experiment on 400 chicken quails. It has studied the impact of a lighting programme with hourly intervals asymmetrical (10L+2D+6L+6D) compared to a programme of continuous lighting (16L+8D),
but also of compound feed on the growth of young quails.

Growth performance were higher in the case of group B compared with the group A of both males and females (average live body weight of males and females in the group B at age 56 days was higher with 6.65% and, respectively, 20.03% from group A). Average daily gain between 29 – 56 days for females in group B was with 35.42% higher as females in group A, with 33.11% for males in group B and 46.60% compared with males in group A.

The average weight of the eviscerated carcase has been higher with 8.67% at group F in relation to group E, 11.67% from group D and with 13.88% from group C. Average weight of the chest was higher with 16.16% at group F in relation to group E, 17.88% from group  D and with 20.29% from group C.

Superior performance recorded in case of group B, recommended to use the lighting programme with hourly intervals asymmetrical, lasting 16 hours on youth quail growth at the age of 29 days. Managing compound feed finisher in males during the period 49 – 56 days lead to superior slaughter results.
