Thirty patients with Tinea capitis attending the Dermatology outpatient clinic of Sohag University Hospital were examined clinically and microscopically (light and Scanning).The ages of patients ranged from 1 to15 years with a mean (7.3 ± 3.9 years). Males were affected more than females in a ratio of 2: 1. Direct light microscopic examination was positive in 73.33% or cases. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) revealed positive results in 100%, of cases where 76.66% showed ectothrix pattern while 16.66 % endothrix and 6.66% favic invasion.
