Aquatic Mycology for thrid year Chemistry and Microbiology Students

This is an introductory course that covers fungi in aquatic habitats that include: freshwater, marine and brackish fungi. Students should gain knowledge regarding diversity of aquatic fungi in various habitats, their ecological role and their life cycles. Students will study the life cycle of common aquatic fungi belong to different taxonomic groups. Fungal phyla that is covered during the course include: Chytridiomycota. Ascomycota and basidiomycota. Fungi-like organisms are also covered which include: starminopiles and protists.
