Water desalination using atmospheric pressure plasma combined with thermal treatment
Herein, a novel method is presented for enhancing the thermal desalination process of saline water and seawater using atmospheric pressure plasma (APP). The efect of APP treatment combined with thermal heating (APP-TH) on the energy consumption, conductivity, and pH of seawater and saline water is investigated. Utilizing scanning electron microscopy and X-ray difractometry, the evolution of the morphology, structure, and ... Read more

Effect of Triple Treatment on the Surface Structure and Hardness Effect of Triple Treatment on the Surface Structure and Hardness of 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel of 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel
Nitriding, annealing, and carbonitriding processes are conducted to modify the surface of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel via radio frequency plasma. A ~20 μm thick nitride layer is obtained in ten minutes at a plasma power of 450 W. Hence, all nitrided samples are annealed under vacuum for one hour at 400 ˚C. The nitrided-annealed samples are carbonitrided via the ... Read more

Superconductivity of Li doped BSCCO mesoscopic fiber
Mesoscopic Li doped BSCCO fibres are synthesized by the electrospinning technology and the sequent sintering treatment. With the assistance of high resolution energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy detector in the Aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy, we discovered hidden CuO grains and separated Bi-2212 phases, which is proved by the existence of fishtail effect in the magnetization loops. The electric measurement is fulfilled via ... Read more

The effective reduction of graphene oxide films using RF oxygen plasma treatment
Graphene Oxide (GO) has attracted strong research interest due to its unique mechanical, thermal, electrical, and magnetic properties. Herein, a simple oxygen plasma process is used as an eco-friendly, novel and effective surface treatment technique to enhance the microstructure, adhesion force, and electrical properties of the GO films. GO films were treated in a plasma oxygen environment at a constant ... Read more

Study on Enhancement of Adhesion Force and Surface Conductivity of Graphene Oxide Films using Different Solvents
In this work, the nanotechnology procedure was utilized to improve both the adhesion force and surface properties of graphene oxide (GO) films. GO has been obtained in a powder form by oxidation purified graphite using the modified Hummer’s technique. Different films of GO nanoparticles (NPs) were deposited using several types of solvents distilled water, acetone, ethanol, dimethylformamide (DMF) or ethylene ... Read more
