Kinetic investigation of hydroxide ion and DNA attack on some high spin iron(II) chelates bearing ONO donors amino acid Schiff bases
The reactivity of few novel high spin Fe(II) complexes of Schiff base ligands derived from 2- hydroxynaphthaldehyde and some variety of amino acids with OH- ion has been examined in aqueous mixture at temperature in the range 10–40 Co. Based on the kinetic investigations, the rate law and a plausible mechanism were proposed and discussed. The general rate equation was ... Read more

Synthesis, physicochemical studies, embryos toxicity and DNA interaction of some new Iron(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes
New Fe(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes derived from the condensation of o-hydroxynaphthaldehyde with L-alanine, L-phenylalanine, L-aspartic acid, L-histidine and L-arginine were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectra, and conductance measurements. The stoichiometry and the stability constants of the complexes were determined spectrophotometrically. The investigated Schiff bases exhibited tridentate coordination mode with the general formulae [Fe(HL)2]nH2O for ... Read more

Hydrophilicity and acid hydrolysis of water-soluble antibacterial Iron(II) Schiff base complexes in binary aqueous solvents
Kinetics of acid hydrolysis of seven antibacterial iron(II) Schiff base complexes has been studied. The Schiff base ligands were derived from sodium 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde-5-sulfonate and a series of amino acids. The hydrolysis rate is studied by spectrophotometric method and compared with complex hydrophilicity. Addition of the organic co-solvent, dimethylsulfoxide or n-propanol, significantly accelerates the hydrolysis. Read more

Synthesis, characterization and spectrophotometric studies of seven novel antibacterial hydrophilic Iron(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes
A series of new Iron(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes derived from the condensation of amino acid and sodium 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde-5-sulfonate have been synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental, electronic, IR spectral analyses and conductance measurements. The stability and solubility of the prepared complexes were determined. Two spectral methods used to determine the stoichiometry of the prepared complexes which exhibited ... Read more

Design, characterization, teratogenicity testing, antibacterial, antifungal and DNA interaction of few high spin Fe(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes
In this study, newFe(II) Schiff base amino acid chelates derived from the condensation of o-hydroxynaphthaldehyde with L-alanine, L-phenylalanine, L-aspartic acid, L-histidine and L-arginine were synthesized and characterized via elemental, thermogravimetric analysis, molar conductance, IR, electronic, mass spectra and magnetic moment measurements. The stoichiometry and the stability constants of the complexes were determined spectrophotometrically. Correlation of all spectroscopic data suggested that Schiff ... Read more

Kinetic Studies of Some Novel Hydrophilic Fe(II) Imino-Complexes
Kinetic Studies of Some Novel Hydrophilic Fe(II) Imino-Complexes Very little effort has been expended to prepare Iron(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes despite their importance as complexes containing a metal in unstable state, low oxidation state, as well as involving unstable ligands. Therefore, Some novel hydrophilic Fe(II) Schiff base amino acid complexes were prepared and characterized their structures by various ... Read more

Reactivity trends in the base hydrolysis of 6-nitro-2H-chromen-2-one and 6-nitro-2H-chromen-2-one-3-carboxyic acid in binary mixtures of water with methanol and acetone at different temperatures
Kinetics of the base hydrolysis of 6nitro2Hchromen2one (NC) and 6nitro2Hchromen2 one3carboxylic acid (NCC) in water–methanol and water–acetone mixtures was studied at temperature range from 283 to 313 K. The activation parameters of the reactions were evaluated and discussed. The change in the activation barrier of the investigated compounds from water to water–methanol and water– acetone mixtures were estimated from the ... Read more

Oxidation of Schiff Base Complexes - Kinetic Aspects
Oxidation of Schiff Base Complexes - Kinetic Aspects oxidation of Schiff Base amino acid complexes In this work, the reaction between Fe(II) Schiff base complexes and H2O2 was carried out in aqueous, co-organic media and in the presence of added salts. Moreover the activation parameters were calculated and discussed. The Kinetic measurements confirmed the pseudo 1st – order rate dependence ... Read more
