Preparation and characterization of mixed iron–titanium oxide nanostructure
The Fe2O3–TiO2 mixed nanostructure was grown from Fe/Ti metallic source using evaporation–condensation method. The formation of mixed Fe2O3–TiO2 nanostructures was confirmed by energy dispersive analysis of X-ray and X-ray diffraction analysis. The scanning electron microscopy showed that the samples consisted of large amounts of two kinds dispersed particulates. The small particulates had sizes in the range of 130–170 nm and ... Read more

Transparent conductive gallium-doped indium oxide nanowires for optoelectronic applications
Undoped and Ga-doped In2O3 nanowires (NWs) were synthesized by using vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth and were characterized as transparent conductive oxides for future generations of optoelectronic devices. A low amount of Ga was obtained due to the low solubility of Ga2O3 in In2O3. The incorporation of Ga into In2O3 nanowires decreases the grain size, the transmittance and the optical band gap. ... Structural, mechanical and optical properties of nitrogen-implanted titanium at different pulse frequency
Plasma-immersion ion implantation (PIII) is a potent method to obtain hard and wear-resistant surface on Ti by nitrogen implantation. This presentation is one part of a sequence of experiments to optimize the microstructure and physical properties of TiN through adapting the plasma-processing parameters. In this work, nitrogen ions were implanted into samples of pure Ti at different nitrogen pulse frequency ... Read more

Effect of composition on transport properties of Ge10AsxTe90− x chalcogenide system
Chalcogenide bulk alloys of Ge10AsxTe90−x (x = 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 55) system were prepared by the conventional melt quench-technique. The dc electrical conductivity σ and thermoelectric power (TEP) measurements were carried out in the temperature ranges from 83 to 353 K and from 253 to 353 K, respectively. The variations of both _σ_ and TEP with ... Read more

Synthesis, structural and ellipsometric evaluation of V 2 O 5 nanowires
V2O5 nanowires (NWs) were grown on Si (100) and quartz substrates using evaporation–condensation method with the VLS growth technique. The chemical composition of the synthesized nanostructures was analyzed using energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDAX). The surface morphology and crystal structure of the synthesized NWs were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), respectively. The XRD pattern ... Read more

Growth of undoped and Fe doped TiO2 nanostructures and their optical and photocatalytic properties
Undoped and Fe-doped TiO2 nanostructures have been successfully grown on Pt-coated quartz and Si (100) substrates using vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth method. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image showed that TiO2 grew in nanowires (NWs) with diameters of 200–400 nm and lengths greater than 12 μm. However, the morphology of Fe-doped TiO2 consists of chunk shaped nanoparticles (NPs). The X-ray diffraction ... Read more

Evaluation of optical constants of Tl4PbTe3 thin films with different thicknesses
Thallium lead telluride (Tl4PbTe3) was prepared by direct reaction of high purity elemental thallium, lead and tellurium. Tl4PbTe3 thin films were prepared on well cleaned glass and silicon (100) substrates by electron beam evaporation. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the films with low thickness were amorphous and the crystallinity increased with increasing film thickness. The thicker films were polycrystalline in ... Synthesis and Ellipsometric Investigations of Copper Doped Zinc Oxide, and Copper Oxide/Zinc Oxide Nanowires
Undoped, Cu doped ZnO and Cu2O/ZnO nanoswires were synthesized by using a simple vapor phase transport process. The corresponding morphology, structure, and chemical composition were investigated using scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive analysis of X-ray, respectively. Although XRD examination of Cu doped ZnO revealed slight change in the lattice parameters of the hexagonal ZnO, the SEM examinations ... Read more

Towards understanding the nanomaterials characteristics of vapor transported CdS in an open end tube
In this study, the evaporation condensation of CdS was carried out in a quartz tube with an open end. The synthesis was carried out on Au coated Si(100) and quartz substrates. The Au coated Si and quartz substrates were put approximately 1 cm and up to 25 cm away from the alumina boat. It was observed that the materials deposited ... Read more

Effects of V doping on magnetic and optical properties of oxygen-deficient In2O3 thin films
The scope of the work was to study structural, optical and magnetic behaviors of vanadium (V) doped indium oxide thin films prepared by thermal evaporation. Thin films of vanadium doped oxygen deficient In2O3 were deposited on sapphire, corning glass and Si(100) substrates. EDAX analysis revealed a great reduction in oxygen was happen during evaporation and oxygen deficient undoped and V ... Read more
